The Great American Clean
2008

The streets of
Riverside will take on a new face as we embark upon The Great American
Cleanup Saturday, May 17th. . Hundreds of volunteers
wearing bright orange vests will be out in full force with trash bags
and grabbers in tow for litter prevention at various sites. Over 30
sites throughout the city will be selected and along Victoria Avenue we
will recruit over 100 volunteers for planting Ragged Robin Roses. You
too, can be a part of these morning events and for fun and rewarding
beautification efforts.
Get involved!
Volunteer to become a “team captain” and organize a cleanup in your
neighborhood or the area of your place of business. If you have a
business, service group or organization that would like to give back to
the community this is a wonderful opportunity to instill a sense of
community pride and leadership that work towards the beautification of
our city! All participants will receive a free t-shirt.
The cleanups will
take place from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon at pre-determined locations
throughout the city. After the cleanups and rose plantings, volunteers
will gather at Arlington Park for lunch, cleanup reports, music,
entertainment, and much more! In addition, we will be announcing the
winners of the Clean Campus Competition. With a 30% increase in
participation this year, we look forward to hearing about the clean and
green beautification efforts that took place on school campuses
throughout the city.
Also at this event
we encourage all our Adopt-A-Street participants to come out and cleanup
their adopted areas.
Remember KRCB
loves volunteers of all ages and we look forward to your participation.
