Cigarette Litter Prevention & Recycling Program (CLPR)

Keep Riverside Clean and Beautiful Cigarette Litter Prevention & Recycling Program helps reduce cigarette waste in Riverside by placing receptacles in public areas and promoting proper disposal. Collected cigarette butts are recycled into reusable materials, keeping our streets and waterways clean.

KRCB’s Mission with CLPR

Through the CLPR, KRCB is actively working to reduce cigarette litter across the city. We:
  • Install and maintain cigarette butt receptacles in key public areas to encourage responsible disposal.
  • Partner with local businesses to distribute awareness materials and CLPR items to of-age customers.
  • Provide marketing tools to businesses that want to champion cigarette litter prevention.
  • Monitor the program’s impact by tracking litter levels near receptacles.
  • Recycle collected cigarette butts, turning waste into points that translate into funding for additional clean-up and prevention efforts.
By combining education, access, and environmental responsibility, CLPR supports KRCB’s mission to beautify Riverside and protect our local ecosystems.
